Ladies and Gentlemen, here you are with the forum (a round of applause, thank you).

While some of you may be already familiar with this environment, others may find it a difficult start.

For all of you, we prepared a FAQ page, where you should be able to find an answer to the most common questions you might have on how to use this tool.

Gaining experience, you'll become familiar with it, and you will easily specify your messages with avatar (small images representing yourselves), signatures, emoticons (smileys), etc....

Not much else to say; please attain to common sense principles, including respect for everybody and everything, and try to write clear messages, to avoid misunderstanding with other participants.
Also, you are requested not to misuse the tools of this forum, tis means, for instance, that you should avoid huge images, or material covered by copyright, etc.

First thing to do, you must register: click the link Register on the top right corner of the forum homepage, accept the conditions proposed, and fill-in the fields to define your profile. Some fields are mandatory, such as your username (one and only one to be used within the forum), your email address, and your password. Other fields are optional, but we'd appreciate if you completed at least those defining where are you located.
Once you confirm your data you'll receive an email at the address specified, confirming your registration, with a link to activate the new account. Then, you should simply click on "Enter TDMItalia Forum" on top of this page, and provide your username/password.
Once you're in (you can see your username high in the right side) you can update your profile with more data.

You will notice that the forum is divided into sections: please try to keep the discussions in the appropriate section; however moderators and administrator are entitled to move discussions started in the wrong section, or to divide those which drifted far from the original subject.

The main forum is obviously dedicated to TDM, and is divided in 5 sections. These sections are quite self-esplicatory, it shouldn't be too hard to guess the right section to start a new discussion

Last suggestion: in the section incontri/raduni (meetings), we would suggest to put before the subject of a new discussion a tag ([TAG]) referring to the regional group involved, and to include in the subject the place and the day of the meeting.
As an example, a new subject might be "[PINGUINI] Swiss Alps tour 01 Jan 2003"

Through the forum you can also browse the message archive, check who is online, send private messages to other users using the button, and much more...

Just a short notice for those of you who aren't that familiar with Italian language (hard to believe, but since you're reading here we guess this is your case): obviosly most threads are in Italian as the majority of the forum users are Italian members, but we created a special section "in English", to share our experience with our friends abroad.

Nothing else for the moment.
For any questions, or if you want to swear at someone in the staff, please don't hesitate, and write to webmaster@tdmitalia.it .

See you there.
